International Forensic and
The study programme aims to offer an insight into forensic science and policing practices across Europe in order to create awareness of cross-border investigation protocols and provide professional development for individuals planning to work or already working in investigations that involve multiple countries. This programme will encompass both theory and practical aspects of working within forensic science and policing investigations in different countries and provide international skills for those wanting to work in this area.
Content of programme
The course consists of 4 modules (5 credits/module):
- International Forensic Examinations
- International Crime Scene Management and Policing Investigations
- International and European Forensic Criminal Law
- Practical based module, including assessments of modules 1, 2 and 3
Modules 1- 3 will be distance learning theory based modules, module 4 will be face-to-face and will be delivered at Avanshogeschool (The Netherlands), Staffordshire University (UK) or Erasmushogeschool Brussel (EhB, Belgium), depending upon your preference. All modules will be in English.
The full programme contains 20 credits (equivalent to 60 credits in the UK) amounting to a Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert). You may choose to participate in modules 1 to 3 only; this participation will result in an EFEN certificate.
Start date and cost
The try-out phase of modules 1 to 3 will start from mid October 2016.
Module 4 will start at EhB in 2017-2018 (period: May to June 2018).
You get 50% reduction due to ‘try out phase’: 75 euros for module 1 to 3 (instead of 150 euros).
Module 4: 650 euros.
This programme is addressed to graduates from forensic / policing related courses, academics and practitioners working within law, science (biomedical laboratory science, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, ….) and the criminal justice system. Individuals working or planning to work within Europe will be the main target as the majority of programme content will be European based.
